You know that heart racing, blood pumping, fight or flight
feeling? I love it. I love having an adrenaline rush, it is awesome. So because
of this I love roller coasters and I love haunted houses. Since it is that time
of the year, yes, Halloween, I went to two haunted houses. I went to the
Haunted Hoochie in Columbus and I went to the Haunted Prison in Mansfield. The
Haunted Hoochie was definitely way better. There were people that were coming
out of hidden places all the time and there were also quite a few dummy type
things too. You were always getting scared, or at least they were trying to
scare you and they definitely succeeded when it came to me. I was screaming
pretty much the whole time and I was so tense that the next day the muscles in
my back hurt, but I would go back. It was the best haunted thing I have been
through before. The Haunted Prison was a different situation though. It is a
real prison that was shut down in the 90’s supposedly because they tortured their
prisoners too much, it is also actually haunted. At the prison you can set up
live ghost hunts throughout the year and you can pay extra and they will turn
you loose inside the prison for a night if you want without the people trying
to scare you. Going through it there were not that many people that would jump
out and scare you, there were just a lot of dummies. It was a really neat thing
to go through though because it is so old and because it is completely
different from the prisons they have now. But if you decide to go and get
scared, I recommend the Haunted Hoochie.
Wow we are definitely different! I absolutely hate haunted places. I cannot stand going through haunted cornfields, houses, and so on. This was the first year I went through a haunted cornfield. My first attempt of going through a haunted place was when I was in the fifth grade, and I chickened with my friends. Ever since then I never had the chance to go back. So finally being a freshman in college I decided it was time to go, and give it another shot. I went to Harold’s Haunted Cornfield, and I must say I would never go back. Throughout the whole cornfield I held on to my friend digging my face into her shoulder trying to avoid seeing or hearing any scary things. I must say I am a big baby, and this caused all the workers to target me and constantly scare me. I must say I could not wait to get out of there. I was never so happy to see the end. The funny thing is my rush is usually going on roller coasters. I love being scared in that way, but being a jumpy person I hate having people scare me. I guess we all have our different interest some loved to be scared by haunted houses and some like roller coasters. Overall it is all for fun, and the great part no matter what you will get a thrill, and great memories to talk about. I guess it is always important to try something once in life!
ReplyDeleteHa-ha, that sounds like a really good time! I never went to The Haunted Hoochie, nor have I ever gone to the Haunted Prison, but after reading your post I might highly consider it. In terms of getting that adrenaline feeling by doing something like going on a roller coaster or going to a haunted place, I really like that experience, as well! One thing I like to do is go to the Haunted Cornfield in Putnam County. I like it because of the fact that it is just in my neighboring town. I am not going to lie; it is not scary at all, ha-ha. That being said, I still like to go with my friends because of the fact that it is a nice bonding experience with people. That, and when my friends get scared, it gets pretty fun to rag on them a little bit. Another thing that I think is a fun, yet scary, experience is going to this “haunted” cemetery near my town. Yes, even though it is probably just some stupid rumor or urban legend, it is still really enjoyable to go to. Getting in that “scared crapless” mood is always a good time in my opinion. I also think it is really interesting that the prison in Mansfield is actually an authentic prison. Maybe having that in the back of your mind can add to the scare factor it has. Even though a lot of the places me and my friends go to get a “good scare” are really not actual scary places at all, I will always enjoy going to them because it’s a great time with my friends.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a lot of fun! I really love going to haunted places with friends around Halloween time! I went to Land of Illusions in Middletown the other weekend and it was a load of fun! A few of my friends actually cried they were so scared because the people dressed up were cornering them in the clown house.. they were terrified of clowns ha! I couldn't help but laugh by it because it's kind of expected to get scared at one of those places. I was holding onto my friend the whole time. They had a haunted woods too that was pretty long that we all went through and people would come out with chainsaws and scare us! I didn't really realize that the people were allowed to touch you. I haven't been to a haunted place in years until the other weekend and the people were grabbing at my legs and they even got up in my friend's face and licked his nose! I love getting scared if I have a bunch of people with me. Never would I even consider staying a night in an actual haunted place even if someone paid me a hundred dollars ha! I can handle people jumping out at me, but when places are legitally haunted.. then that's where I draw the line. I'm a big baby when it comes to those kinds of things. Kudos to the ghost hunters out there because I know I would never be able to do a thing like that! It sounds like you had a lot of fun and maybe next year I'll have to check that one out. Land of Illusions is pretty cool too it's close to Dayton.
ReplyDeleteI told agree with you on your love for haunted places. I am big into scary movies and haunted places. I have always wanted to got to the place in Columbus, but most if my friends do not enjoy haunted places. This year I persuaded them to go a haunted cave in Lewiburg. I thought it was pretty good. I mean it was not to scary but the effects it had were amazing. The only other haunted place I have been to is a haunted cornfield which in my eyes is not scary at all. Although I may not find it scary most of my friends do, but they also can not the Parnormal Activity movies without freaking out or leaving the room. I love at scary parts because I either think it is unrealistic, or other people's reactions is preceless. One time a girl I went with was expecting the guy to scary me so she walked by him without a care in the world and he ended up scarying her. She jumped really high in the air and screamed; when she came down she fell to her knees because she was laughing so hard. I would suggest going to the haunted cave if you want a place with great special effects, but they can touch you there, and there is real live bats. Although I did not see any bats, they do have them there and they said that they will land in girls' hair. The only way for them to get the bats out is to cut your hair. That hardly ever happens, but jsut a warning if you decide to go there.
